The Short-Stay Rehabilitation Program, located on two floors of Village Nursing Home, helps individuals achieve the highest level of recovery possible so they may return home as active members of their community.

The program offers services for those who have suffered a disabling illness or condition, such as fracture, stroke, amputation, arthritis, spinal injury, deconditioning and other neurological, orthopedic or cardiac conditions.

The short-stay program is a part of the rehabilitation network of the renowned Rusk Institute of NYU Medical Center, one of a select number of subacute programs in New York City selected by Rusk. The Institute is the larges university-affiliated center devoted entirely to inpatient/outpatient care, research and training in rehabilitative edicine.

The intensive restorative therapy program offers rehabilitation, physical medicine and orthopedics, a full complement of professional rehabilitation staff, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, a speech-language pathologist and an audiologist. Intensive rehabilitation services available seven days a week along with a full therapeutic recreation schedule. Before returning home, each person receives comprehensive discharge planning, including a pre-discharge home safety evaluation and home care referrals as needed.
